The news that shook Kollywood a few months back was the separation of actress Amala Paul and director AL Vijay. On Tuesday, reports confirmed that the two had officially ended their two and half year marriage after the District Family Court in Chennai granted them a divorce. A lot of reasons had been cited for their separation, one of them being Amala Paul being ill-treated by her in-laws apart from not being allowed to pursue film acting. However, AL Vijay had deemed this news as false and claimed that the reasons for divorce were personal.
The former couple came together for the first time in 2011 when Amala Paul worked in Vijay’s critically acclaimed flick 'Deiva Thirumagal' with Vikram. Later Amala Paul was seen in many films directed by Vijay. After dating for nearly four years, they came forward with the wedding and tied the knot on 12th June 2014. The wedding also happened at a grand event in the presence of family, friends and the film industry personalities. Now that the court has granted the divorce, the couple are finally separated as per the law.
