Malayalam film director Diphan aka Deepan (47) passed away on March 13 at Kochi in a private hospital. He was ailing from liver cirrhosis and kidney failure and was admitted to the hospital for the past 15 days. Director AK Sajan, a close friend of Diphan says, "He was ailing from liver cirrhosis and kidney failure. The body will be taken to Trivandrum today and will be cremated on the next day."

Diphan, who debuted into films with 'Leader' in 2003 is a close associate of star hero Prithvi Raj. Diphan is known for his films 'Puthiya Mukham', 'Hero' and 'SIM'. His upcoming movie, Sathya, which has Jayaram in the lead, is in the post-production stage.
